The Silver King Claims are located within the historic Warren Mining District of Central Idaho. This district has seen a flurry of mining activity since the 1860’s as the wave of prospectors based out of Idaho’s first mining camp located to the north in Pierce, Idaho spread south across the Salmon River Canyon. Under the direction of James Warren, the miners discovered rich placer ground in what is now the Warren Mining District.

The Silver King Vein lies on the hill directly east out of town in Warren, ID. The vein is said to have been worked between 1900 and 1906, and had produced about $35,000 (1900’s market price) dollars worth of precious metals, mostly silver.

Claim Geology
The bedrock within the district is predominately a quartz monzonite, a granite-like rock, which is part of the larger Idaho batholith underlying a major portion of central Idaho. This quartz monzonite is typically a light gray, medium to coarse grained rock, composed of plagioclase feldspar, quartz and biotite mica.

The Silver King Vein is very persistent in its strike and bears every evidence of being a true fissure, having clay gouges and slickensides showing wherever it is encountered in its unbroken condition. The veining is white quartz frequently stained with iron oxide and in places very rich in gold and silver.
